I draw on everything. Really, everything. And the drawings are usually bizarre. I’ve scanned a few scraps from notebooks and calendars, just for you. Ready? Be bold, be bold, but not too bold.

In case you haven’t heard, a new law (Section 92 of the Copyright Amendment Act) is about to be passed in New Zealand that will force the removal of websites and internet service if there is a suspected (not proven) copyright violation. It won’t require evidence, a trial, or even any consequences for false accusations. The primary campaign against this law can be found at http://creativefreedom.org.nz/.

Here he is, in all his overcoat-wearing glory. No hat, sadly, and no bandolier with pistols. Not yet, anyway.

For my final project in the “Pirates of the World” class here at UMW, I’m making a Blackbeard doll. He’s mostly done, with the (very important) exception of his overcoat, bandolier, pistols, hat, and a couple of other pirate-y things.

Made the eyes and cute button nose from Sculpey. You can't see it, but there's a hole running horizontally through each eye, and vertically through the nose so I could sew them on later.
His wig, just after completion. Found a fantastic, really easy method of making yarn …

I went downtown today in search of wooden things to paint, and returned with three kitchen implements, a music box, and a typewriter. The music box didn’t play, so I dug out my screwdriver and pliers. After an hour and a half, it was playing again. The melody is a little haunting…
